A Mass Notification System Streamlines Communications for Shopping Centers and Other Multi-Tenant Locations
Did you know? Since mid-April, Paul Blart has been at it again “saving the day” in Mall Cop part two. I haven’t seen it yet… but I hear this time Paul is taking his skills to Las Vegas to thwart off a criminal threat at a hotel. Sigh… maybe I would go see the movie if he was patrolling around his adored shopping mall again… communicating with a mass notification system!

Align customer experience and expectations with customer service processes using Omni-Channel Communications
The idea or concept of Omni-channel communications is all the rage among marketers. While it might be the rage, talking about it and actually doing it are two different things. For one, many companies, and many marketers for that matter, are still working with silos of data. For example, they are using third party systems or point solutions for email newsletter campaigns, text message marketing programs, push notifications to mobile devices and postings to social media—which makes Omni-channel communications impossible. This is not only highly inefficient, but it leads to the same content being pushed down multiple channels. This is not what Omni-channel communications is all about. Further, the use of third party systems or point solutions highlights the fact that there is no single source of truth or 360 degree view of the consumer when it comes to communications. By utilizing a single source of truth CRM system like Dynamics CRM combined with Pocketstop’s Multi-channel Broadcast API, you can run true Omni-channel communications from one, centralized hub and have real reporting and visibility whether B-to-B or B-to-C. Omni-channel communications isn’t just a new buzz word—it’s a growing customer expectation.

Critical Preparations You Need (but hope you never have to use)
After waking up bright and early, my morning routine consists of a little breakfast, coffee and catching some news on the television before I head out to the office. Pretty standard. Sometimes, however, I am hesitant to turn on the news. Sometimes, I just want to leave the TV off. With recent headlines concerning terror overseas and humanitarian crises here at home, sometimes I just want to tune out the world and not think about all the bad things that can happen. But things happen. Accidents happen. Extreme weather happens. And, unfortunately, public violence and acts of terror happen too.

Last month, Mobile Marketing Watch published a brand new statistic about Smartphone penetration in the U.S.1 that got me thinking about how marketing has evolved over the years. Do any of us yearn for the days in Mad Men where marketing and advertising channels were pretty limited — can you imagine just three network television channels and no internet? With all of the conveniences that the digital age has brought us I can certainly tell you I’m not looking back. But, I am looking forward. And with Smartphones reaching 70% mobile market penetration there is a whole lot to look forward to.

We all know how wonderful technology can be. It can do amazing things like save us time and money and can make our lives a lot easier.
